Two years ago, i had helped the Indian Sonic Research Organisation in Bangalore to install a 30 loudspeaker system and had an eight speaker system at home. These have only convinced me i need to build a portable eight speaker system. Two possible implementations come to mind, one a standard one with a two or three meter cube assembled with aluminium or fibre glass tubes, but the other a more attractive idea is to build it with very small speakers and carbon fibre frame, which can sit on the shoulders so the head is free to move. This can acommodate a variety of listeners, can be powered by batteries and easily dismantled for transport - the parts can be designed to be 3d printed. I would use the residency period at Wisp Kollektiv to build this portable 3d sound system.
