The "Wisp Laboratory" is an intensive week of interdisciplinary research and production with modern technologies and a meeting point for local and international artists. The laboratory promotes the exchange and practice of cooperation between various research and art areas, such as media art, photography, performance, theater, music, visual design, dance and virtual reality.Within five days, up to 30 participating artists experiment with a variety of technologies and jointly produce audiovisual installations, concerts and performances, which are then presented to an audience in a two-day public event. Travel and travel expenses, as well as accommodation are covered by the Wisp collective to ensure an inclusive structure. When selecting the participants, the priority is set on diversity. This is made possible by a balanced relationship between both genders and the origin from local, as well as different cultural and political habitats. The resulting heterogeneity is decisive for the high potential in terms of topics and the perception / representation of the "now" from different perspectives. In this intensive week, the Wisp collective accompanies the participants through the process of finding ideas and groups and introduces interested participants through workshops in subject areas such as VR design, generative design and the development of 2D and 3D animations for immersive, audiovisual setups. On the basis of effectively accompanied idea and group creation processes, not only can unique results emerge in the shortest possible time, but even more significant interpersonal synergies develop that facilitate mutual learning processes and create surprises that are also expressed in the final work.
